Spotlight on products: Orangeries

Written by | Return to Latest News

OrangeryIn the first of a series of ‘spotlight on products’ blogs we talk about the benefits of orangeries, and how you can find the perfect style to suit your budget and personal tastes in the Turkington range.

Why buy an orangery?

With summer here, it’s a popular time for homeowners to invest in an extension for their property, with conservatories and orangeries in demand for making the most of the longer, brighter days.

A conservatory is an ideal way to allow more light into your home, but if you want a more sophisticated style of extension an orangery is the perfect alternative. Some conservatories can get too hot in the summer, especially if you have a south facing property, but the brick pillars of an orangery help protect against this and provide a more solid feeling extension that can be used for anything including a kitchen, dining room or living room.

Traditional style orangeries from Turkington Windows

Turkington Windows is an approved installer of the LivinRoom Orangery from Ultraframe Conservatories.

This option uses Ultraframe’s classic roof at its heart, adding well-engineered internal framework, then plastered to give a perimeter ceiling all the way round into which down lights and speakers can be incorporated.

This gives the same look of a lantern roof without the weight and extra construction, and means you can enjoy the best of both worlds with the light of a conservatory and the feel of a home extension.

Affordable home extensions from the Loggia collection

As well as classic orangery styles, we also install the Loggia orangery, a modern building system which replaces the traditional conservatory and makes orangeries affordable.

Loggia provides a thermally efficient home extension offering plastered walls with perimeter ceilings, high insulated columns and a glass roof that allows natural light to flood in. Alternatively, we can install Loggia orangeries with a solid tile roof to reduce solar glare and keep your orangery warmer in winter.

With Loggia you can enjoy a beautiful new room to your home all year round which adds value to your home at a lower cost than a traditional brick built extension.

Wide range of styles and colour options available

There are lots of orangery styles available in the Turkington Windows range, but most of our designs are bespoke to the client to give you an orangery style that perfectly complements your home and meets all your performance requirements.

Our traditional and Loggia orangeries are available in a range of colour options including heritage colours to further enhance the classic style of orangeries and wood grain foils to create a natural timber look.

Some styles of orangery are also available in a range of glazing options including standard energy efficient double glazed sealed units, Georgian bar options, and diamond and square leaded glass.
